Cooking in bulk
You can now cook in bulk, freeze your food in handy sized portions and defrost them as required. Have a look at some baby receipe books, triple up the ingredients and then make a bulk batch (see the links page for great receipes).
Cool off the pots in the fridge and then place them in plastic bags in the freezer. In the bag include a bit of paper to remind you what the food is and when you'd made it. My husband once tried to feed my little one homemade vegetable stock, because I hadn't labeled it. It was only when he said it looked a little runny that we found out what is really was!
To prevent frozen food from 'drying out', always try and fill the pots up as much as possible. This prevents leaving an air gap and will result in fresher tasting food. If this isn't possible add a small amount of water/milk eg: teaspoon to the pot before defrosting.
Hygiene
Please ensure that you thoroughly clean the pots before using them and after each use to maintain good hygiene. Always use the lids provided to keep the frozen food fresh.
